Delete your data
Effective 2026-10-11
Aibou keeps your data on your phone. If you turned on household sync, there is also a shared copy on Aibou's server. You can delete either one.
On your phone
- Delete a pet: open the pet, tap More, then Delete permanently. The pet and everything recorded for it (schedules, check-offs, logs, records and photos) go from this phone. With sync on, they go from every phone in the household, and their photos are deleted from Aibou's server. The server keeps a deleted copy of the rest so that phones that were offline learn about it too; deleting the household data, below, removes that as well.
- Delete everything: uninstall the app, or on Android open Settings, Apps, Aibou, Storage, then Clear data. In the browser, clear the site data for aibou.i4c.studio.
On the server (household sync)
In the app open Settings, then Household, then Delete household data and confirm. Any member of the household can do this, from any phone that is still in it.
If none of your phones can do that, and your household was unlocked with a license key, email support@i4c.studio from the address on your Polar receipt and ask us to delete it. Polar can tell us your license key, and the key leads us to the household it unlocks, so we can delete that household's data for you. There are no accounts, so without a key we have no way to tell which household is yours: then Delete household data in the app is the only way.
This removes:
- the household and its members,
- every synced record: pets, schedules, check-offs, logs and vet records, deleted ones included,
- the uploaded photos,
- any open pairing codes,
- the link between your license key and the household.
It happens for everyone in the household. Other phones stop syncing and keep the pets and records they already have. Sitters lose access, and Aibou clears your pets from their phones the next time they open it with a connection. Your license key stays valid, so you can turn sync on again later.
What is not removed
Purchase records stay with Polar, who sold you the unlock and holds your email and receipt. Ask Polar to delete them if you want that. Files you exported (backups, CSV, PDFs) are yours and live wherever you saved them.
